Due to the fact that he had a keen mind and legendary power, Dumbledore became the only wizard Voldemort ever feared. He was the wielder and the master of the Elder Wand from 1945 to 1997 and considered by many as the greatest Headmaster to ever grace Hogwarts. When Harry Potter was born, Dumbledore took a personal interest in him and aided him many times during his years at Hogwarts. Crouch was imprisoned in Azkaban by his father, but escaped with the help of his mother.
Second Wizarding War (1995–
Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger were Harry Potter's best friends and, like Harry, they thought Dumbledore was a great wizard. Dumbledore liked them too, despite that he wasn't as close to them as he was to Harry. After his death, he left Ron his Deluminator (a unique artefact created by Dumbledore himself) and Hermione his copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard. Elphias Doge became a close friend of Dumbledore's during their first day at Hogwarts.

Helga Hufflepuff was a Welsh witch who, when founding her Hogwarts House, decided that what she needed her students to be, above all else, was loyal, hardworking, and kind. She invited students from all different backgrounds, treated them equally, and brought them together to be united by patience and tolerance. Newcomers to the institution are divided between the houses by the Sorting Hat in the first major ceremony of each school year, and that placing will determine who they live, study, and work with for the next seven years of their lives. Dumbledore's closest relationship was perhaps to Harry Potter, who is his informal Protege.
Incompetent and corrupted Hogwarts Professors
Setting off from Hogwarts in the evening of 30 June, 1997[4], he and Harry Apparated to just outside the cave, being unable to enter directly due to its protective enchantments. Once inside, Dumbledore located the Horcrux's second line of defense; a hidden doorway which only opened when it received an offering of blood. They next found themselves in a vast chamber containing an underground lake, with a solitary island at its center from which a faint green light was visible. After a failed attempt by Harry at summoning the Horcrux, Dumbledore located a carefully concealed boat that would allow them safe passage across the lake. During the crossing, Harry learned of the Horcrux's third line of defense; the lake was filled with Inferi, which would attack anyone who touched the lake's water. Dumbledore was appointed Headmaster of Hogwarts in approximately 1956[9], after Armando Dippet left the post.
The Order of the Phoenix was an organization Dumbledore formed to oppose Voldemort and his forces. He had good relationships with most of the members, such as his brother Aberforth, Elphias Doge, Minerva McGonagall, Rubeus Hagrid, Severus Snape, James and Lily Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Alastor Moody. Dumbledore clearly underestimated Snape's capacity for love, and, years later, was very surprised to learn that Snape still maintained his devotion. Dumbledore chose to capitalize on Snape's remorse and initiated him into the Order of the Phoenix as a double agent.

Albus was made a prefect during his fifth year and was made Head Boy in his seventh year. Severus Snape had lived up to his word to Dumbledore so many years ago, and protected Harry’s life while maintaining his credibility with Voldemort. Now, at this crossroads, Dumbledore ruthlessly compelled Snape to promise one more thing — to kill him, if needed, to maintain his cover and spare young Draco Malfoy the experience. When their father Percival was sent to Azkaban for attacking the boys that injured Ariana, Kendra decided to keep her daughter’s condition a secret and moved the family from Mould-on-the-Wold to Godric’s Hollow where the family kept to themselves.
Even more, he is capable of pitying those who had committed crimes and he appeared to have held no grudges or personal animosity towards his enemies even if they had done so much evil and even if they had hurt him personally. His ability to pity others and mercy was shown by the fact that he pitied Voldemort himself as he had never experienced love and by the fact that he chose to leave Lockhart's crimes unexposed to the public upon seeing Lockhart had got what he deserved. His strong will was displayed in this, as he was able to overcome not only his fears, but also strong desires and feelings, such as the fact that he stood up to Grindelwald despite having a crush on him and strongly desiring power and fame that would come with their revolution when he attacked Aberforth. He also could endure and recover from the probing of traumas and severe emotional depression quickly to a better degree than most, as he quickly recovered from being exposed to emotionally torturing visions of Ariana's death. Dumbledore wore half-moon spectacles and a colorful array of robes, ranging from purple to crimson red.

When Draco hesitates, Snape appears and performs the Killing Curse on Dumbledore, only after Dumbledore pleads with Snape saying, "Severus . . . please...". Meanwhile, the Ministry of Magic does everything they can to discredit him and Harry – mainly through the Daily Prophet. At the beginning of the book, Dumbledore enrages Fudge when he stops by at Harry's hearing with a witness (Arabella Figg) to ensure that he is not expelled. While Harry feels better when Dumbledore assists him, he becomes annoyed to the point of being angry that the headmaster refuses to speak to or even look at him. In the second novel, a younger Dumbledore appears in a series of flashbacks, seen by Harry in a diary once owned by Tom Riddle, the most gifted student in Hogwarts' history - and the future Lord Voldemort. Through the diary, Harry sees Riddle's memory of Dumbledore questioning him about a series of attacks on Muggle-born students.
Dumbledore proceeded to tie up the loose ends with Harry, explaining everything he withheld whilst he was alive. At one point, Dumbledore seemed to beg for Harry's reassurance, uncharacteristically doubting some of the decisions he had made in the course of his life, which Harry easily gave him. He even pleaded with Harry to forgive him for the mistakes he's made, acknowledging Harry as the better man. Though Harry had felt some resentment for how little he felt Dumbledore had actually revealed of himself in their time together, Dumbledore showed a side of himself that no one had ever seen to Harry.
He was also disgusted that Greyback had started to attack outside the full moon and enjoyed the taste of human flesh. Though Dumbledore was aware of the organisation's formation from the start, he was not aware of its name and seemed quite overwhelmed when he first discovered it, apparently very touched by the open show of devotion and trust in him. He also lied directly to the Ministry by claiming credit for the organisation's creation as an attempt to subvert the Ministry and taking full blame for its illicit activities, which spared all of its members from expulsion and allowed them to remain at Hogwarts. These gifts were proven very useful, as Ron abandoned Harry and Hermione formerly to find his family, and, when he wanted to come back to Harry and Hermione, the Deluminator showed him the way.
Albus's father, Percival Dumbledore, was heartbroken and set out in search of his own brand of justice. Though he was no longer alive at the time, it was through Dumbledore's manipulations that Voldemort was ultimately defeated, and lasting peace finally restored to the wizarding world. Gryffindor house is one of the four houses at Hogwarts, named after one of the school’s founders, Godric Gryffindor. It’s no surprise, then, that a future leader in the fight against the darkest wizard of all time, Lord Voldemort, hailed from this house.
